We are a coalition of local organizations that support protecting Colorado’s nation-leading election system. Colorado’s election system is widely viewed as the “gold standard” for being voter-friendly, equitable, secure, transparent and accurate. We stand together in opposing Proposition 131, funded by wealthy individuals to drastically change how we vote in our state.

Since Colorado passed major election reforms in 2013, our voter turnout has ranked among the highest in the country - including among 18-34 year-olds and communities of color. In fact, 71% of voters believe their elections are conducted fairly and accurately, while election deniers have taken their toll on voter confidence in other states.

Colorado has continued to strengthen our election laws to increase the number of voting centers and ballot drop-boxes across the state, expanded voter access on college campuses, instituted automatic voter registration, expanded multi-lingual ballot access and conducts post-election accuracy checks.

Proposition 131 would make confusing and hasty changes to our voting system. They promise to solve partisan divisions in Colorado’s elections, but have resulted in voter confusion, decreases in voter participation and manipulation of the primary results in other states.

Proposition 131 – too much, too soon, too risky.

Coloradans deserves better. VOTE NO
